Envision Success with Heather Legee (one contestant's journey)

Heather Legge, life coach and owner of Envision Success Consulting wanted to get involved with Omaha's Wealth for my Health challenge. We brainstormed different ways of doing so, and decided the best way for her to get involved would be to coach a contestant through their journey.

Theresa was the lucky contestant to be teamed up with Heather, and since the Kick Off have been meeting once a week.

The first week was "Inventory" week. Heather advised Theresa to "declutter" some things that were taking up space (both physically and mentally) in her life. Theresa agreed to begin cleaning out a storage unit that contained "stuff". She set a goal to unpack and give away one box of "stuff" a week.

Theresa was also instructed to visualize her new "healthy" self. She needed to find a goal outfit. There is a dress she loves and has in mind for her "goal outfit"... she just needs to FIND IT! Once she gets her hands on it she is going to hang it up in her room as a constant reminder (seeing it, feeling it, etc.) of where her goals are going to take her. She also is going to dig out a couple photos of herself at Size 10 - and display them. She was instructed to begin REALIZING her dreams. She CAN do it. Yes she CAN!

Heather instructed Theresa to begin living what her healthy life will look like 5 years from now. She needs to start NOW. Don't wait "until she gets healthy" or "until I win the challenge". DO IT NOW!

Heather and Theresa's second discussion consisted of Theresa drafting longterm goal statements. Such as: "I will be size...." Theresa needs to process HOW to get to that long term goal. She determined this is through being aware of herself (self awareness) and switching to positive energy. Thinking statements such as: " I am the kind of person that eats heatlhy" and "I am the kind of person that exercises". Theresa needs to determine what a healthy lifestyle for herself would look like.

Tasks for Theresa this week are:
Find that DRESS!
Find those photos of herself at a size 10!
Put air in tires of bike

Good luck with everything Theresa! Can't wait to check in with you again next week.

Wealth for my Health - Omaha's First "The Amazing Chase"

Storm clouds were rolling in and the heat index was set to "high" but the Wealth for my Health contestants were ready for a good 'ol challenge!

The "Chase" started in the parking lot of the Durham Museum. Teams had to correctly put in order "Fad Diets of the Decades". Once they completed the first challenge, they received their clue to get them to the next leg of the chase. This clue took them to the Farmer's Market parking lot in the Old Market.

At the Farmer's Market parking lot, a nominated team member from each team was blind folded and instructed to eat and identify a variety of mystery fruits and vegetables. Once all items were correctly indentified, they received their next clue.

The next clue lead them to a parking garage, where they were instructed to take the stairs to the roof. Once they arrived on the roof, each team member had to do 20 jumping jacks, and couldn't begin their jumping jacks until the team member in front of them completed theirs. Once the team finished, they received their next clue.

This clue lead them to Heartland Park which lead the team members on a goose chase to find me. Once they found the correct spot, they had to do 100 "step-ups". After completing the "step-ups", they received their final clue.

This clue lead them to the Pedestrian Bridge, which connects Nebraska and Iowa. Team Fit Body Boot Camp (the "black" team) took the win and bragging rights until the next challenge.

The contestants did AWESOME running and navigating through a 3 mile chase. Way to go everybody! I can't wait for "Survivor - Omaha" in a couple weeks!
